Andy Zdon Author, Andy Zdon, Geology of the Las Vegas Region, Desert Summis A Climbing and Hiking Guide to Southern California and Nevada, climbed his first desert peak, Telescope, in the winter of 1981, and has been climbing desert peaks ever since. His work as a hydrogeologist has taken him to many of the desert locations described in this book, including the Inyo Mountains, Providence Mountains, New York Mountains, Lanfair Valley, and the Lower Virgin River Valley. A graduate in geology of Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, Andy is a passionate collector of books on mountaineering and the history of the desert southwest. Andy lives and works in the Owens Valley.
